actually comprise a very small fraction of the majority of players around the worldthe vast majority of players are actually the aforementioned casuals that play on-and-off on rare occasions, usually one-handed or index. Also, the so-called "elite" side of SM consisting of communities such as FFR, Otaku's Dream, Keybeat, Thirdstyle, Vocamania, etc. New players don't have the incentive to play regularly and improve and just play very casually on-and-off because many of them don't realize there's more to this game than pressing arrows to DDR eurobeat, leading back to my point of having absolutely no progress without the aid of a veteran.
STEPMANIA STAIAIN DOWNLOAD
Sure, you can download Stepmania the program and a few shitty pad and index files from, but where do you go from there? There are too many communities to choose from, you don't know which one you'll best "fit in" with, and there are way too many simfiles to download, and frankly unless you have a veteran holding your hand guiding you all the way, there is absolutely no way anyone is going to progress far with this game. For example to get my point across, part of the reason why osu! is such a successful game in itself is because everything to do with the game is localized and contained all in one domainyou don't see people splitting and creating their own osu! forums or communities and the like because there is absolutely no need to when the main site has everything people need. Take a look at any single game you can name off the top of your head and you'll realize that practically almost every game has only ONE central community and site for everything, with minimal community splitting. FFR, Thirdstyle, Otaku's Dream, Keybeat, Bluexoon, and even Vocamania are all guilty of doing this when there isn't even a valid reason for one central game to split into countless communities enclosed into their own bubbles. There are simply way too many Stepmania related communities that have branched off and isolated themselves from into their own niche, private communities that people completely new to Stepmania frankly don't even know where to begin with this game. The largest and most prominent cause of this problem, which frankly can't be solved at this point, is that Stepmania in itself doesn't have one, central website for everything to do with the game. The first and foremost problem with Stepmania is that there are more players quitting than there are new people joining and playing the game activelythere's an exponential gap difference between the two. I've had thorough discussions with people from the SM community about this topic, and frankly, I'm one of very few people around still that are fully aware of the problems this game has created for itself.
